The Astana team has missed a preliminary deadline to file required paper work as part of the UCI’s annual review of teams’ ProTour status.
Astana was one of five teams that missed the October 20 deadline, but may be the team that suffers the most immediate consequences, since UCI rules allow riders on teams that have missed that deadline to terminate existing contracts.

This Sunday Nov. 9th brings the Big Stampede and Swapmeet to Lowe’s Motor Speeway. This is one of the best places to get great deals on Bikes, bike accessories, clothing and wheels. Many of the cycling teams bring in their equipment to sell and this usually means GOOD DEALS. Be sure to come out to Lowe’s Motor Speedway and bring cash.

Once a year the Carolina Time Trial Organization promotes a team time trail event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. This year I participated as a rider on Team Wachovia. There were 19 teams in the event including mens, womens and mixed double teams. Our team had one practice session which consisted of 3 riders. This ultimately hurt us because we had trouble staying in a tight pace line. Overall, it was a good experience and we learned what we needed in order to ride competively next year.
